WPBS-TV LOCAL PRODUCTION INSPIRES SERIES OF FAMILY DAY EVENTS

Watertown, NY – WPBS-TV is excited to announce a series of Family Days coming in June to celebrate literacy and the great outdoors, inspired by the newest local WPBS-TV local production, Park It! Explore the Outdoors. Each Family Day will feature a regional preview of Park It! Explore the Outdoors, a “Nature Cat” episode, photo opportunity with PBS KIDS Character, “Nature Cat,” explorative, hands-on outdoor activities unique to each park, and more.

Each registered family will receive a free children’s book and foldable Nature Cat binoculars. Families can also expect thematic programming throughout the entire summer on WPBS-TV. Space is limited. Register at wpbstv.org/parkit.

Family Days will occur at the following locations:

Saturday, 6/22: Murphy’s Point Provincial Park – Ontario, CA 1-3pm

Sunday, 6/23: Nicandri Nature Center – Massena, NY 1-3pm

Saturday, 6/29: North Country Welcome Center – Alexandria Bay, NY 1-3pm

Sunday, 6/30: Boondocks Restaurant – Lyons Falls, NY 1-3pm*
            *Parking will be available on the Lyons Falls side of the building

Premiering Monday, June 24 at 9PM, Park It! Explore the Outdoors is a 60-minute, high definition feature of ten parks; eight parks in the tri-county region are explored, along with two provincial parks in Canada, and six waterfalls in Lewis County. The program repeats June 29 at 5pm and June 30 at 12pm.
