Monthlong Effort to Culminate With ‘315Day’ of Giving on March 15

315Day (March 15)
is a day to spread kindness around our tri-county area; to celebrate all things within the 315 area code. 315 signifies both the date on the calendar and the biggest telephone area code in New York! The Northern New York Community Foundation is partnering with the other tri-county non-profit organizations for this virtual day of education and giving. In keeping with its founding principles, #giveNNY and its “315Day” campaign aims to unite North Country nonprofits in putting community philanthropy above each organization’s specific interests. From human services to health and wellness, arts and culture, conservation and environment, history, education, children and families, animal welfare, youth development, elder services, and recreation, nonprofits participating in the 2021 #giveNNY campaign represent a wide range of unique missions that collectively strengthen the region and make Northern New York a special place to live, work and play.

Returning for its fourth year, the campaign kicks off Monday, Feb. 15, and culminates with a day-long radio broadcast on Tunes 92.5 FM on Monday, March 15, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Several events to drive awareness and support for the effort are planned during the month leading up to “315Day.” All campaign activities will be conducted with health and safety in mind as the region continues to confront the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

About #giveNNY:
#giveNNY began in 2017 as a grassroots, community-based movement to unite tri-county nonprofits in a local day of giving on the international #GivingTuesday. In 2018, 14 nonprofits in Jefferson, Lewis, and St, Lawrence counties participated and were each awarded an equal share of money raised during the effort. The campaign completed its third year in 2019, kicking off with 27 participating nonprofits on Monday, Nov. 4, and culminating with a radio broadcast on Tunes 92.5 FM on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.

#giveNNY helps to unite the region’s nonprofit organizations through a collaborative effort that highlights the important work they collectively achieve, in partnership with donors, in the communities where we live. The movement ensures every gift of every size can be combined for greater reach. It is also unique in that participating nonprofit organizations are as diverse in their missions as the region.
