Watertown, NY- On Saturday, March 2nd, during the Spring into March Member Drive, WPBS will premiere the pilot of its newest local series, Painting With Wilson Bickford at 3:00 pm and again on Sunday, March 10th at 4:30 pm. This new program is hosted by renowned North Country native, artist and author Wilson Bickford, who provides both instruction and entertainment through the art of painting.
Primarily a self-taught artist, Bickford embodies his personal philosophy that “anyone can paint,” and has thousands of satisfied students and followers to show for it. WPBS has been looking for a new program to feature for the artistically-inclined viewers in our broadcast community and Painting With Wilson Bickford is the perfect fit.
WPBS is hosting a special online fundraising initiative for Painting With Wilson Bickford on Kickstarter.com. All donations will receive thank-you gifts. Please check back on WPBS’s website after the premiere to find out how you can help support Painting With Wilson Bickford.
One of Bickford’s students in the North Country community, Helen Ziegler of Harrisville, NY had the following to say in regards to the new program: “Wilson is a great art teacher and has inspired many people to paint, who would never attempt it otherwise! As one of his students, and I think most of us feel the same, we can’t wait for the opportunity to watch Wilson on a weekly basis on WPBS.”
