WATERTOWN, NY; April 20, 2022 –
WPBS-TV is delighted to announce that the much-loved and long running family event Ready Set Fun – which had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic – will be returning this year!
Thanks to our generous sponsors – Martin’s Point Health Care and Stewart’s Shops – and the Salmon Run Mall, we are able to bring back this celebration of learning on Saturday, May 14th.
Held each year in May for over 20 years, this literacy fair includes PBS Kids Characters, a gently-used book swap where every child can obtain a free book, screening of episodes of PBS Kids programs Donkey Hodie and Nature Cat, presentation of the winners of the annual WPBS Writer’s Contest and much more.
Over 30 community partners will exhibit in the fair to highlight the services they provide to families in our community, including North Country Library System, Community Action Planning Council Head Start, YMCA – SACC and many more.
Mark Prasuhn, President & General Manager of WPBS-TV, said that “knowing how much this long-established annual event means to children and families in our area, we are very excited to be bringing it back for the first time since 2019. Encouraging and inspiring creative imagination and literacy in children is one of our greatest priorities, and we look forward to welcoming our friends to Ready Set Fun!”
Get ready, get set, have fun at the Salmon Run Mall, Saturday, May 14th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
As always, admission is free.
