WPBS-DT is proud to announce their latest local production, WPBS Now, a 30-minute, 10 part series hosted by Don Alexander. WPBS Now will focus on community issues and help provide insight into these issues with special guests from our local region. Some of the topics that will be discussed are: Common Core, Health Care Reform, Arts & Culture, Travel & Tourism, Agri-business, Tax Cap, and New York Air Brake.
Donald C. Alexander is CEO of the Jefferson County Industrial Development Agency, the Jefferson County Job Development Corporation and the Jefferson County Local Development Corporation. Over many years of community service, Don has served on a variety of local civic organizations and remains active in several throughout the community.
WPBS Now will air Friday, September 26th at 8:30pm and repeats Sunday, September 28th at 9:00am. The first in the series, Common Core Part 1, will take a look at the definition of Common Core and what it means for local schools, teachers and students. The discussion will help dispel myths about Common Core and provide much needed information. Special guests include: Stephen Todd, District Superintendent, BOCES, Dr. John B. King, Commissioner of Education and President, The University of the State of New York.
