WPBS-TV Presents New Music Concert Specials in March 2023

WATERTOWN, NY; February 28, 2023 – WPBS viewers often share how much they enjoy the station’s selection of special programming, which invites audiences to take front-row seats to world-class performances through television and online content. WPBS is pleased to offer an unbelievably varied array of new music concert specials Wednesday, March 1st through Sunday, March 5th, 2023. Fans will not want to miss these powerful music concert specials:

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1ST
Elvis Presley: ’68 Comeback Special (7:00 pm) An Elvis Presley concert special that originally aired in 1968 and marked Presley’s return to live performance after a seven-year period during which he focused on his film appearances.

THURSDAY, MARCH 2ND
Billy Joel: Live at Yankee Stadium (8:00 pm) Billy Joel’s legendary 1990 concert at Yankee Stadium stands as one of the greatest concert films of all time.

Bob Dylan: Live in Newport 1963 (10:00 pm) Performances by Bob Dylan at the 1963 through 1965 editions of the Newport Folk Festival capture renditions of some of Dylan’s greatest songs.

SATURDAY, MARCH 4TH
John Denver’s Rocky Mountain High (3:30 pm) Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic title track from Denver’s 1972 album.

Big Band Years (6:00 pm) My Music returns to the era of the legendary orchestras, great singers and song standards, drawing upon the most beloved melodies that kept the home fires burning and soliders’ hearts alive during World War II.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: The Hits, The History & Dirt Does Dylan (9:30 pm) Fresh off their 18-month 50th Anniversary Tour, this iconic and profoundly influential band – often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music – continues to add to their legendary status.

SUNDAY, MARCH 5TH
British Beat (1:00 pm) Travel to London and around the UK to the places where the British Beat was born. The program features a mix of archival full-length performance films mixed with live performances.

Joe Bonamassa: Tales of Time (3:00 pm) This is the 10th concert for PTV, shot at the iconic Red Rocks, highlighting his studio album, Time Clocks.

Daniel O’Donnell From Castlebar, Ireland (4:30 pm) Join the beloved balladeer for a concert of new songs and fan favorites from Ireland.

60’s Pop, Rock & Soul (6:00 pm) An all-star concert reuniting legendary singers and groups performing the greatest hits of the 1960.

Rod Stewart: Live at Royal Albert Hall (8:00 pm) Filmed at the Royal Albert Hall and accompanied by a full band and 60-piece orchestra, Rod performs his best loved hits with a guest appearance from Ron Wood.

Peter Frampton in Concert (9:30 pm) In 2022, music icon Peter Frampton returned to the UK to perform at the Royal Albert Hall on November 8th. The Grammy-winning guitarist is one of the most celebrated artists in rock history.
