The 2023 World Cup marks a “paradigm shift” for women’s soccer, U.S. forward Megan Rapinoe told PBS NewsHour co-anchor Amna Nawaz ahead of the international tournament. Speaking at U.S. Media Day, which is a preview of the games for members of the press, the two-time World Cup champion touted the push for equality among women’s sports. “The sky is the limit from here,” she said.

The Women’s World Cup kicks off on July 20. The U.S. team will have its first game of the tournament on July 21 and will take on Vietnam.
