WATCH: Biden says justice ‘delivered’ in al-Zawahri killing #shorts

President Joe Biden confirmed a CIA drone strike killed al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri in an address to the nation Monday night, saying “justice has been delivered.”

The killing of al-Zawahiri comes nearly one year after U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan.
“No matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and take you out,” Biden said from the White House.

Before becoming the leader of al-Qaida, al-Zawahri was Osama bin Laden’s trusted deputy and deeply involved in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

“He carved a trail of murder and violence against American citizens, American service members, American diplomats, and American interests,” Biden said in the address.

The U.S. fired two hellfire missiles over the weekend at a house in Kabul where al-Zawahri had been staying. The White House says there were no civilian casualties.
