Kids count rattlesnakes in West Virginia

Timber Rattlers are a poisonous snake, but relatively docile and misunderstood. West Virginia’s Department of Natural Resources is using citizen scientists to record sightings of Timber Rattlers and raise awareness about the positive role they play in West Virginia’s ecosystems.
