Ready, Set, Fun! 2024

WPBS and the Salmon Run Mall are teaming up again this year to bring back the Ready, Set, Fun! Literacy Festival! Ready Set Fun is a celebration of learning that has been held annually for over 20 years and boasts around 50 community partners, PBS Kids Characters, presentation of the winners of the annual WPBS Writer’s Contest and much more!
This year’s theme is “Silly Summer Sun!” Come read stories, play games and celebrate summer sunshine on a chilly day!
Get ready, get set, have fun at the Salmon Run Mall – Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
As always, Admission is FREE!
Vendor applications are now open!
Local organizations, businesses, and authors with an educational demonstration or activity to share are encouraged to apply to be part of the event. *Please note that due to Salmon Run Mall regulations, all vendors must provide an insurance certificate and may NOT sell any materials or items.

Volunteer Opportunities!
This event is made possible by viewers like YOU! If you would like to be a WPBS volunteer at Ready Set Fun, it is a 4-hour time commitment, with positions for individuals both seated, standing and walking. Snacks and water will be provided. We are looking for volunteers to help register vendors, support vendors, and walk with the character suit performers.
We are also looking for costume suit performers to volunteer as well! Due to costume regulations, performers wearing the character suits must be healthy and able to stand and carry approximately 10-15 lbs of weight, be between 5’4″ and 5’10” and no more than 210 lbs. Performers will be on 20 minute shifts/20 minute breaks for 4 hours, and will be in photo ops with families and children. Performers must be 18 and up, or 16 with parental attendance and consent.
