14 million Afghans need food assistance to survive, but most foreign aid remains frozen

Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August, the country’s economy and infrastructure is collapsing. Hundreds of thousands are hungry; millions more are jobless and impoverished; and the hard afghan winter is bearing down.
