WPBS-TV, Watertown’s Public Broadcasting, is pleased to present Whiz Quiz with new host Jeremy Graves for the 2018 season. Glenn Gough has decided to pass on his much beloved legacy of asking tough questions for 38 years to his colleague and friend, Jeremy Graves! Watch for the transition to take place on-air, and join us in thanking Glenn for 38 wonderful years!

This year marks the 39th year of Whiz Quiz, the longest running academic quiz show in the North Country. Whiz Quiz celebrates the academic excellence of high school students from both sides of the border. Whiz Quiz will air Monday through Friday at 7:30pm beginning Monday, October 22nd and will continue through December with the championship matches.

Whiz Quiz hosts thirty American high schools from Jefferson, Lewis, Franklin, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties and two Canadian high schools. The competition is a single-elimination format, with members competing in televised matches. Each year the American and Canadian champions meet for the International Championship in an hour-long match that pushes the teams to compete one more time to see who will hold the title of Whiz Quiz International Champions.

Tune-in to celebrate the achievements of these talented students on Whiz Quiz with new host Jeremy Graves. All matches will be available for online viewing every Friday at watch.wpbstv.org. For more information about Whiz Quiz, please visit wpbstv.org/whizquiz.

Corporate support for Whiz Quiz is provided by Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, SUNY Canton, Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence University, and Jefferson Community College. Scholarships for the winning teams are provided in part by National Grid, Rotary Clubs in Clayton, Watertown (Noon), Watertown Evening, Malone, Massena, and Theresa.
