WPBS-TV AND BOLDT CASTLE PRESENT THE 2nd ANNUAL FAMILY FUN DAY

Boldt Castle at Heart Island and WPBS-DT, Watertown PBS, present the second annual Family Fun Day, Saturday, June 20th from 10am-3pm. Boldt Castle, in association with WPBS, will host a family based event featuring characters from popular PBS Kids television programming including Princess Presto, Peg + Cat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, Daniel Tiger, and Cat in the Hat.  Upon arrival at Boldt Castle children will receive their Passport to Fun.  The day on the island includes several activity stations hosted by PBS Kids characters, along with story telling and exploring!  Children can build a birdhouse, plant a flower and talk to their favorite characters. Each character will have their own educational activity station for children to engage in, with a prize awarded for completion of all activity stations.  WPBS will also be presenting Daniel Tiger’s Neighbor Days, a campaign focused on teaching children the importance of being a good neighbor.  Children may donate a sweater at the Daniel Tiger activity station and pick up their “Pass it On” sweater card.

Food will be available at the castle’s concession stand or families may bring a picnic lunch.  Merchandise will be available for purchase and parents are encouraged to bring sunscreen and a camera.

Admission rates for the day are, Adults $8.50, Children 6-12 $6.00, ages 5 and under are free.  This is an Operation Yellow ribbon event and military service members with ID will receive $1 off admission prices. Transportation to the castle may be obtained through one of the participating boat lines; Uncle Sam Boat Tours; Clayton Island Tours; 1000 Island Cruises Rockport and Gananoque Boat Lines.  Transportation to the castle is an additional expense and not included in the Family Fun Day ticket price.
