WPBS Salutes Canada Day and Independence Day with Virtual Coast-to-Coast Tours

As a cross-border public television station that serves residents of Northern New York and Eastern Ontario with the finest educational media content, WPBS-TV acknowledges and celebrates Canada Day and Independence Day each July. This year, in light of the ongoing border closure, we know that many of the residents of our region are unable to freely cross the border and visit family, friends and destinations as they normally would. So we decided to mark Canada Day and Independence Day 2021 with a virtual tour. WPBS viewers will be able to vicariously experience the varied and spectacular landscapes and settings across Canada as we broadcast a full day and evening of travel documentaries reflecting the country’s diverse regions on Thursday, July 1st. Then on Sunday July 4th we’ll take a similar trip across the USA with special programming throughout the day and evening, capped off with the star-studded musical extravaganza A Capitol Fourth at 8:00 pm (repeated at 9:30 pm).
