WATERTOWN, NY (July 6, 2022); The historic and scenic village of Clayton N.Y. is celebrating its Sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) in 2022.
In honor of this occasion, WPBS is pleased to present The Mysterious Origin of Thousand Island Dressing on Sunday, July 17th at 4:00 pm. This fascinating tale populated with remarkable characters was originally broadcast in 2012 to considerable acclaim and audience ratings. After thoroughly researching several alternative theories, the definitive proof of how Thousand Island Dressing came to be was uncovered by the filmmakers, Eric Roberts and Andrea Reeves, at the Thousand Islands Museum in the Village of Clayton, NY.
The findings of the documentary changed culinary history books and led to a feature segment on CBS Sunday Morning and reenactment on the Travel Channel’s Mysteries at the Museum.
As part of the village of Clayton celebrations, the documentary will also be presented and screened for the general public on Wednesday, July 13th at 12:00 noon at the Clayton Opera House.
