WPBS Presents Premiere of New Series: RADICAL RESTORATION in January 2023

WATERTOWN, NY (January 9, 2023) – WPBS-TV has long been known for presenting locally produced lifestyle series, many of which have been successful and received national distribution across the PBS system, including such titles as Classical Stretch, From a Country Garden, Fishing Behind the Lines, Painting with Wilson Bickford and many more. We are very pleased to launch our latest series in this genre, Radical Restorationwhich will air on WPBS on Thursdays at 7:30 pm, starting Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Independently produced by Canadian producer John Podolak, Radical Restoration features stories of famed, classic autos going from states of utter disrepair to glistening showpieces. This program is sure to engage gearheads and motorists of all descriptions as these cars metamorphosize before our eyes in each half-hour episode.

101 (Thursday, January 19th at 7:30 pm)
See how Gary and his team put the finishing touches on a modified 1936 Ford Pick-Up truck that has been transformed into a Hot-Rod as it makes its entry into the prestigious classic car competition at Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Also, we visit a dedicated Model T-Ford enthusiast as he showcases his 1912 Model-T and a 1932 Model-A Fords.

102 (Thursday, January 26th at 7:30 pm)
We get inside a restored 1965 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertible then meet the family that had to make a difficult decision to sell their 1965 Ford Galaxy, a rare factory-built car. Then we take a tour of some of the cars in the shop as they work their way through the restoration process.

103 (Thursday, February 2nd at 7:30 pm)
The 70’s were notorious for both muscle cars and luxury cars. In this episode, for the luxury, we look at a Lincoln Continental and a Buick Riviera. For the muscle, we check out a Dodge Charger. Then later, we see how a 1965 Divco delivery truck is given a new lease on life.

104 (Thursday, February 9th at 7:30 pm)
A 1966 Impala SS is restored, and we follow the process as Gary and his team bring this classic car back to life.

105 (Thursday, February 16th at 7:30 pm)
A 1966 Chevelle is modified, and we watch Gary and his team put the finishing touches on a 1000 horsepower engine and take it for a short spin.

106 (Thursday, February 23rd at 7:30 pm)
North Country viewers won’t want to miss this special episode, which was filmed on location at the 11th Annual Classic Cars & Classic Wines Car Show, held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at the Coyote Moon Vineyards in Clayton, N.Y.

Radical Restoration will be distributed on PBS stations across the country in the coming months.
