WPBS-DT to Broadcast Republican Debate June 12, 2014

Watertown, NY- June 4, 2014 Republican Congress candidates Matt Doheny of Watertown and Elise Stefanik of Willsboro will be debating once again before the June 24th primary election.  The debate will take place Thursday, June 12, at WWNY-TV studios located in Watertown, NY.

The panel will include Jeff Cole, anchor of WWNY’s morning show and host of WPBS’s “Public Eye with Jeff Cole,” David Sommerstein, assistant news director of North Country Public Radio; Thom Hallock, producer and anchor of Mountain Lake Journal.  Brian Ashley, co-anchor of WWNY’s news will be moderating the hour-long debate.  The debate will broadcast at 7pm on WPBS-DT, Watertown.   Mountain Lake PBS, Plattsburgh; WWNY, and North Country Public Radio will also broadcast the debate.

This forum will give each candidate the opportunity for opening and closing statements and the chance to weigh in on national and local topics. The winner of the June 24 primary will be the Republican candidate for the 12 County 21st Congressional District. Democrat Aaron Woolf and Green Party candidate Matthew Funiciello are running unopposed.
