WPBS-DT CHARACTER BREAKFAST “NEIGHBOR DAYS” COMING TO THE WATERTOWN ELKS LODGE

Watertown, NY- April 16, 2015 WPBS-TV, Watertown, NY presents the 7th Annual PBS Kids Neighbor Days Character Breakfast, May 9th from 8am-10am at the Watertown Elks Lodge #496, located on Bradley Street in Watertown, NY. Join WPBS, along with Cookie Monster, Hooper, Woofster, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Curious George for breakfast and story time!  Each child will also receive a PBS Kids “goody bag”.

Breakfast starts promptly at 8am, with character visits to each table.  At 9am, there will be photo opportunities with each character and at 9:30am a local author will read a story.  Children will also be able to pick up their “Daniel Tiger Neighbor Days” card and donate a sweater as part of our #bemyneighbor campaign. Admission for Character Breakfast is $15 for adults and $10 for children.  Character Breakfast is an Operation Yellow Ribbon Event offering military discounts; please present your military ID at the door.  Military ticket prices are $13 for adults and $8 for children. Purchase tickets and view the complete breakfast menu, online at wpbstv.org/characterbreakfast.  Seating is limited so buy your tickets soon!  Bring your smiles and cameras for this exciting event! PBS Kids merchandise will be available for purchase.

Immediately following the breakfast, parents and kids can make their way over to the Ready, Set, Fun Neighbor Days at the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Conference Center located at 1291 Faichney Drive, Watertown, NY. This event is WPBS’s largest kid’s event. Admission is free with the donation of a canned good donation. Each year, over 1000 pounds of food is donated to a local food bank through WPBS-DT’s Ready, Set Fun!  For more information about Ready, Set, Fun and a list of scheduled events for the day, please visit wpbstv.org/readysetfun.
