Hundreds of pagers used by members of the militant group Hezbollah exploded across Lebanon Tuesday, in an unprecedented attack.
The Lebanon health ministry says 2,700 people were injured and at least nine were killed, including a young girl.
The New York Times reported Tuesday evening that American officials briefed on the operation were told that Israel hid explosives in materials used to make the pagers.
This attack comes as tensions between Israel and Lebanon have been rising since the Oct. 7 attacks.
PBS News’ Nick Schifrin reports on the latest and how this could potentially escalate already-growing tensions in the Middle East.
