Decorated gymnast Maggie Nichols testified Sept. 15 before the Senate Judiciary Committee as lawmakers examined how the FBI handled its investigation of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who was convicted in 2018 of sexually abusing women and young female athletes in his care. Nichols said she reported her abuse to USA Gymnastics over six years ago. “I am haunted by the fact that even after I reported my abuse so many women and girls had to suffer at the hands of Larry Nassar,” she said.
