WATCH: Amb. Yovanovitch refutes falsehoods used in smear campaign that led to her ousting

Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who was ousted from her position, refuted several of the lies that were told against her in a smear campaign that was led by President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Yovanovitch, who was testifying as part of the impeachment hearings against Trump, said she did not disseminate a “do not prosecute” list and the Obama administration did not ask her to help the Clinton campaign, as was claimed. “I do not understand Mr. Giuliani’s motives for attacking me, nor can I offer an opinion on whether he believed the allegations he spread about me. Clearly, no one at the State Department did. What I can say is that Mr. Giuliani should have known those claims were suspect,” Yovanovitch testified.
