STATIONS JOIN TO BROADCAST FINAL DEBATE OCTOBER 21

Watertown, NY- October 15, 2014
The three candidates for the north country’s seat in Congress will meet for their third and final broadcast debate at 7 pm, Tuesday, October 21, in Watertown.

The debate will be recorded at WWNY TV in Watertown during the day Tuesday and will be broadcast across northern New York on television stations WWNY TV, WPBS DT and Mountain Lake PBS, and on North Country Public Radio.

“We’re pleased to once again join with our public TV and radio partners in presenting the candidates for Congress,” said WWNY TV general manager Cathy M. Pircsuk. “We look forward to a lively discussion of the issues.”

Republican Elise Stefanik, Democrat Aaron Woolf and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello will make their cases directly to the voters of the 21st, and then answer questions from a panel of journalists – David Sommerstein of North Country Public Radio, Thom Hallock of Mountain Lake PBS and Jeff Cole of WWNY and WPBS. They’ll be asked questions about both national issues and issues specific to the north country.

“7 News This Evening” co-anchor Brian Ashley will host and moderate the debate.

The debate will also be posted at wwnytv.com for anyone who can’t watch the program on TV or hear it through NCPR.
