In September 2014, Houthi rebels from the north of Yemen moved into the capital, Sanaa, demanding concessions from the government. Since then, the Houthis have taken control of Sanaa, and pressured Yemen’s U.S.-backed President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi, the prime minister and entire cabinet to resign. Their slogan includes the words, “Death to America. Death to Israel.”
