Restoring justice

What happens when schools replace metal detectors and security procedures that make students feel like a problem with programs that build a culture of respect and peace?

This piece examines the movement toward more youth-centered, restorative justice practices, which began as a grass-roots effort and have subsequently been adopted by Chicago Public Schools district leadership.
