Recovered drug addict creates organization to help others recover

Tena Quakenbush founded Stop The Stigma to aid people on the road to recovery from drug addiction. She provides treatment, counseling and consultation, and directs those in need to medical professionals. The organization was created as a result of Quakenbush’s own experience being stigmatized and a desire to help others the same way she was helped.

Produced by Dani Bernabei-Grassi, Whitney Hentch and Kim Leadholm at Black River Falls High School in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Instruction provided by SRL Connected Educator Julie Tiedens. Station support provided by Wisconsin Public Television.
