WPBS-TV, Watertown, NY – This year will mark the 20th year for the most successful and largest educational event in our area – Ready, Set, Fun Bookfest! Join us May 7th, 2016 from 10am-1pm at the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Center, located at 1291 Faichney Drive, Watertown, NY.
Each year over 1,500 children and parents join WPBS, our community vendors, and local children’s authors for this literacy focused, hands on event. Children will be able to visit with their favorite PBS Kids characters, Woofster and Cat in the Hat! Admission to this event is the donation of a canned good or non-perishable food item. This year, collected items will be donated to the Community Action Planning Council (CAPC) in Watertown. Visit wpbstv.org/readysetfun for a listing of vendors. The excitement continues as WPBS hosts Pizza Palooza at the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Center, beginning at 1pm! You’ll enjoy activities, a pizza lunch, and photo opportunities with Woofster, Cat in the Hat, Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Cookie Monster! Tickets for the Pizza Palooza are $5 per person (children 1 year and under are free, and are available to purchase at wpbstv.org/tickets. This is an Operation Yellow Ribbon event and military members will receive a $1.00 off discount. Ready, Set, Fun and Pizza Palooza are sponsored in part by Jefferson Dental and Martin’s Point Healthcare.
