October is a busy month for local public affairs programming on WPBS-DT.

On Friday, October 7, “Public Eye” kicks off its second season with a discussion between mayoral candidates Jeff Graham and Jeff Smith, moderated by host Jeff Cole from WWNY-TV 7. The episode airs at 9:00 pm and repeats Sunday, October 9 at 7:30 am.

On Tuesday, October 11 at 7:30 pm, “Women at the Front” will hold a frank discussion on what it is like to be a woman in today’s highly competitive professional world.

Andrea Pedrick hosts the live program, with panelists Dr. Carole A. McCoy, President, Jefferson Community College; Dr. Ana Y. Estevez, Associate Professor of Biology and Psychology, St. Lawrence University; Judy L. Getner, former Deputy to the Garrison Commander at Fort Drum; and Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Canadian Forces, Karen McCrimmon.

The program is a partnership between the Northern New York branches of the American Association of University Women and WPBS-DT. The program was created to coincide with Women, War, and Peace, a new five-part series on WPBS-DT. The series uncovers the untold stories of women’s strategic role in global conflict and premieres Tuesday, October 11 at 10 pm on WPBS-DT.

On Wednesday, October 12 at 8:00 pm, “WPBS Live!” with host Don Alexander begins its 10th season on WPBS with guests Mike Miller and others from the North Country Artists’ Guild. Viewers are encouraged to phone in and ask questions by calling 315-782-8600 during the program.

Following each on-air broadcast, all local programs will be made available for viewing on wpbstv.org.
