President Trump’s back-and-forth response to Charlottesville

President Trump initially reacted to violence in Charlottesville by blaming the deadly violence on “many sides.” Days later, he condemned white supremacy by name. This week, he met with the Senate’s lone black Republican, Tim Scott of South Carolina. Not even 24 hours after that meeting, the president once again returned to his initial response and then signed a joint resolution from Congress rejecting white nationalists. The panelists discussed the month long back-and-forth.
