Watertown, NY- March 31, 2014 WPBS-TV, Watertown, NY presents the 6th Annual PBS Kids Get Up & Move Character Breakfast, May 10th from 8am-10am at the Watertown Elks Lodge #496, located on Bradley Street in Watertown, NY. Join WPBS, along with Daniel the Tiger, Buddy the Dinosaur, Cat in the Hat, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Curious George for breakfast and story time! Each child will also receive a PBS Kids “goody bag”.
Breakfast starts promptly at 8am, with character visits to each table. At 9am, there will be photo opportunities with each character and at 9:30am a local author will read a story. Jamie Kalk-Charlebois will also join Character Breakfast with exercises and fun “Get Up & Move” activities for the children. PBS Kids merchandise will be available for purchase.
Admission for Character Breakfast is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Character Breakfast is an Operation Yellow Ribbon Event offering military discounts; please present your military ID at the door. Military ticket prices are $13 for adults and $8 for children. Immediately following the breakfast, parents and kids can make their way over to the Ready, Set, Fun Literacy Event at Watertown High School. This event is WPBS’s largest kid’s event. Admission is free with the donation of a canned good donation. All food items are donated to the Urban Mission Food Pantry. Each year, over 1000 pounds of food is donated to this local pantry through WPBS-DT’s Ready, Set Fun!
