Beyond the Competition – Showcasing Former Winners of The Orchestra of Northern New York’s Young Artist Competition.
Junior High and High School students from Northern and Central New York are invited to participate in the 15th Annual Young Artist Competition on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Participants will receive feedback from a panel of professional musicians that includes ONNY’s music director.
Cash prizes will be awarded and the winner will have the opportunity to solo with ONNY at a future concert.

NICOLE (MOODY) CANULL earned a Bachelor’s of Music degree from Drake University. She has participated in prestigious masterclasses under the guidance of such famed cellists as Clive Greensmith of the Tokyo String Quartet and Israeli-American soloist Amit Peled, among others. She has studied under Dr. Angelo LaMariana, Dr. Ann Alton and Dr. Ashley Sidon. Nicole performed in Italy and throughout the U.S. Midwest and Northeast. She is a recipient of a German cello from the Carlsen Cello Foundation. Ms. Canull expresses her passion for music by teaching at The Harmony Garden Music Center in Hopewell Junction, NY as well as performing solo and with the Hudson View Trio throughout Dutchess County, NY.
