Independent candidates left off debate stage and RNC launches social voting app

Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson may be hovering around ten percent in national polls, but it is not enough to make the first presidential debate stage on Monday, making it unlikely for him to raise his national profile. Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee launched an app this week for users to share their contacts with the party and encourage their friends to vote, but digital privacy was on the minds of consumers after 500 million users of Yahoo had their personal information compromised in a widespread hack that authorities suspect Russia of orchestrating. And while 17 percent of the U.S. is Hispanic, only two percent of naitonal office holders are. Will their representation expand in November?
