Jay Matteson helps Boy Scout Troop 586 work towards earning their Bird Study Merit Badge by visiting Derby Hill. There, they go birding and identify many different birds migrating on the south winds traveling across Lake Ontario and over Mexico, NY. They meet with President of Onondaga Audubon Society, Alison Kocek who informs them about what Derby Hill does to help preserve and strengthen different wildlife in the area.
