Watertown, NY – WPBS-TV is pleased to announce the return of Fishing Behind the Lines for its fifth season. The thirty-minute, 13-part series premieres on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 7:30PM with longtime public television host, Don Meissner, front and center as usual. This series takes active duty military and veterans fishing and gives a voice to the stories of service and sacrifice from the men and women who have served in the military, both in the United States and Canada. This series also showcases the great fishing the region offers, as well as highlights fishing styles, techniques, and tricks of the trade.

Each episode of Fishing Behind the Lines features active duty or retired service members from different branches of the military, including the Coast Guard. The servicemen and women share some of their experiences in the military, while fishing is introduced as a natural way to recreate in our region. This series provides a vital link between the military and civilian communities, while also fostering national pride.

Fishing Behind the Lines is sponsored by American Military University, Oswego County Tourism, and Tailwater Lodge.
