This original oil painting is a porch scene reminiscent of the homes of Sheila's childhood. Clapboard houses were very common in the Ottawa Valley as the land was rich in timber. The style of quilting for the cusion on the rocker was called 'log cabin' - a favorite design of valley quilters. Sheila finds it very satisfying to capture childhood memories in her work. This piece is framed in a light gold toned frame with a linen liner.
