Art Auction

WPBS-DT, Northern New York and Eastern Ontario’s PBS Station is pleased to announce the “Art Squared” exhibition and sale, which will be happening in conjunction with our 2012 Art Auction, November 16th – 18th, 2012.

This is an opportunity for our community to engage in the arts in an effort to support creative and educational programming in our area. We are asking members of our local community 16 years of age and older, to create and donate artwork on a 6” x 6” substrate of their choosing.

All mediums will be accepted except for ceramic tiles and glass due to the possibility of breakage. All work should be original, unframed and you may create any type of art you wish in any medium; ink, paint, pencil, photography, etc. the sky is the limit – this is your chance to be creative! We only ask that the artwork fit within the 6” x 6” parameters.

We will have three categories; student, amateur and professional. A cash prize for Best in Show will be given in each of the three categories. All pieces will be displayed during our 2012 Art Auction preview reception and will be available for purchase at a fixed price. There is no entry fee and participants may create as many pieces as they wish. An entry form (see link above) should accompany the piece(s) and may be mailed to WPBS-TV or can be dropped off at the station during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm. The deadline for submission is October 19th, 2012.

All proceeds from sold artwork will help fund programming at WPBS-DT .
