Music and Beyond is dedicated to enhancing the enjoyment of classical music and the arts in general in the Ottawa region by providing excellent concerts; broadening the audience base; fostering greater appreciation, understanding, and support for all forms of classical music; and pioneering innovative approaches including new venues and partnership with other artistic and cultural endeavours. Its centrepiece is a summer festival bringing together musicians from across Canada and around the world, as well as from the Ottawa region, to present a wide range of classical music at an affordable price, with marketing, outreach, and educational activities, which will bring music lovers to Ottawa and enhance its reputation and economic base. Both this festival and a variety of unique special events throughout the year will go beyond traditional formats and repertoires to explore synergies between music and other arts and cultural forms in ways that will enrich the art, inform the listeners, and attract new audiences.
