WPBS-TV received an urgent correspondence from a member in Ottawa that Rogers Cable has announced they are removing WPBS-TV, Watertown Public Television, from their line-up effective August 18 and replacing us with Detroit PTV.

WPBS-TV, Watertown Public Television has been broadcasting into Ottawa since the early 1970’s, and we have long-since been considered the “local” public television station.  WPBS-TV airs and produces programs that are specific to our region and our two-nation audience.  If this change is made, a friendship we have forged for almost 40 years could be lost.

On behalf of all of us at WPBS-TV, we will stand up for this small public television station, and we hope you’ll do the same.
