Rose Hall Great House was formerly the home of Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall.  Raised by a voodoo nanny, Annie was in her late teens when she came to Rose Hall.   During her tenure at Rose Hall, Annie murdered three husbands and was eventually murdered herself by one of her slave lovers at the age of 29, in 1831. Schooled in voodoo, Annie would often ride her white horse throughout the plantation, terrorizing her 2000 slaves.  She was also adept at voodoo curses.
	When Annie was murdered, her slaves rejoiced and proceded to destroy every token of Annie's life, so that today, no paintings remain to show us what she looked like. The house is now a museum and tours are available.
