Fairchild Tropical Garden is an 83-acre tropical paradise with winding paths leading to graceful palms reflected in silvery lakes, broad vistas of sweeping lawns and lush, shady retreats.

The garden was founded by Col. Robert Montgomery and named in honor of Dr. David Fairchild, one of the greatest plant explorers of all time.  Many of the plants still growing in the garden were brought here by Dr. Fairchild.

The garden was opened to the public in 1938.

Tram tour available.  Garden shop and cafe on premises.
Above:  Why is the camera crew wearing jackets?  Well, we taped Classical Stretch at Fairchild Tropical Gardens during one of Miami's rare January cold spells ... it was only about 45 degrees fahrenheit when this picture was taken.  Miranda, trooper that she is, endured the cold to bring our viewers two great shows!
